Formally Limiting Capitalism - Building Cities of Light
← Back to Cities of Light

Building aesthetically pleasing village homes, attracting peoples of a feather into villages with productive capacity that supply the capitalist-adjacent markets of the Tenderloin.

Proposed villages would link homes with work and training. Residents could develop skills in gardening, orchards, poultry, beekeeping, textiles and other productive activities, supplying goods to markets connected with the Tenderloin.

Proposed Village Locations

Property sizes and features are taken from the project map and have not been independently verified. These are candidate sites; availability, permitted uses and suitability for village development remain to be confirmed. Distances are preliminary road-distance estimates, not measured routes.

CANDIDATE SITE 1

2321 Geneva Avenue — Daly City

Land size: 0.44 acre (approximately 19,300 square feet)

An urban site on the San Francisco Peninsula. Your map describes seven adjacent parcels, frontage on three roads and multiple access points.

Distance from the Tenderloin: Approximately 7–10 miles (11–16 km) by road from the Tenderloin.

CANDIDATE SITE 2

90 Santa Clara Street — Brisbane

Land size: 2.36 acres

Distance from the Tenderloin: Approximately 13–17 miles (21–27 km) by road from the Tenderloin.

CANDIDATE SITE 4

Manor Drive — Pacifica

A large coastal site in Pacifica. Your map describes rolling to gently sloped land with ocean, hill and city views.

Distance from the Tenderloin: Approximately 12–16 miles (19–26 km) by road from the Tenderloin; the exact parcel entrance is needed for a precise route.

Backlander Groups

  1. Christians
  2. Pagans
  3. Native Americans

Proposed community groupings; participation has not been established.

Native American Peoples Near San Francisco

The following peoples and communities have ancestral ties to San Francisco and the surrounding region. The names refer to overlapping local, linguistic and cultural identities rather than five equivalent tribal governments. Ancestral homelands are distinct from present-day reservation boundaries.

Ramaytush Ohlone

San Francisco and the San Francisco Peninsula, including Daly City, Brisbane and Pacifica. All four proposed village sites lie within this ancestral homeland.

Yelamu

The local Ohlone people of present-day San Francisco, within the Ramaytush-speaking area.

Lisjan / Chochenyo-speaking Ohlone

Oakland, Berkeley and surrounding East Bay areas.

Coast Miwok

Marin County and southern Sonoma County, north of the Golden Gate.

Southern Pomo

Areas of Sonoma County, farther north of San Francisco.

Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria

A contemporary federally recognized tribe comprising Coast Miwok and Southern Pomo people, with ancestral ties to Marin and Sonoma counties and reservation land near Rohnert Park.

These communities are identified for geographic and cultural context. Their inclusion does not indicate endorsement, partnership or participation in this project.
